Regular home cleaning in London

The same cleaner, the same day, every week or fortnight — somebody who learns your home rather than working from a generic checklist in a house they have never seen.

Short answer

Regular home cleaning is a scheduled weekly or fortnightly visit covering kitchens, bathrooms, floors, dusting, surfaces and general tidying. Earnest Care visits start at £00 per hour with a minimum of 0 hours, include all products and equipment, and are delivered by the same DBS-checked cleaner each time.

What is covered in a regular clean

Every home gets a written checklist agreed at the start, and it is yours to change. As a standard starting point:

Standard regular clean
AreaWhat we do
KitchenWorktops, sink, hob, splashback, outside of appliances, cupboard fronts, floor. Bins emptied and relined.
BathroomsBath, shower, screen, tiles, basin, toilet, mirrors, floor. Descaled as needed.
BedroomsDusting, surfaces, mirrors, vacuum. Beds made, or changed if you leave linen out.
Living areasDusting including skirting and sills, surfaces, vacuum and mop, cushions straightened.
ThroughoutFloors vacuumed and mopped, doors and handles wiped, cobwebs removed, general tidying.

Not included as standard - because they take real time and should be priced honestly rather than rushed: inside the oven, inside the fridge or freezer, interior windows beyond reachable glass, carpet shampooing, and anything requiring ladders. All are available; just ask and we will add the time.

How often should I have a cleaner?

The realistic test
Weekly if the house has children, pets, or more than two working adults. Fortnightly if it is one or two people who are tidy and out most of the day. Monthly only works alongside a household that cleans between visits.

The common mistake is booking fortnightly to save money and then finding each visit is spent catching up rather than cleaning. If your cleaner is still on the kitchen at the halfway point, the interval is too long or the hours are too few. Tell us and we will say so honestly, including if the answer is fewer hours rather than more.

The same cleaner, and why it matters

By the fourth or fifth visit a regular cleaner knows that the left-hand tap drips, that the good glasses are not to go in the dishwasher, that the cat gets out if the back door is propped, and that you would rather the papers on the desk were left exactly where they are. None of that is on any checklist.

That is why we do not run a rota. When your cleaner is on holiday we send a cover cleaner, we tell you in advance who it is, and we brief them from your notes.

Keys, access and being out

Most of our regular customers are at work. We hold keys under a signed keyholding agreement: keys are coded rather than labelled with your address, stored securely, and signed in and out on every visit. You get a message when we arrive and when we leave.

If you would rather not hand over keys, a key safe or a smart lock code works equally well. We will never ask you to leave a key under a mat, and if any cleaning company suggests it, do not use them.

Products, allergies and pets

We bring everything. If anyone in the house has asthma, eczema or a sensitivity, or you would simply rather we used eco or fragrance-free products, tell us and we will — either ours or yours. Pets are fine; just let us know what we are walking into and whether they need keeping in a particular room.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a weekly cleaner cost in London?
Our regular home cleaning starts at £00 per hour with a minimum of 0 hours per visit, including all products and equipment. Most three-bedroom homes need three hours weekly or four hours fortnightly.
How long should a cleaner take for a 3 bedroom house?
Roughly three hours for a weekly clean of a three-bedroom home, or four hours fortnightly, assuming it is reasonably tidy to begin with. A house that needs tidying before it can be cleaned takes considerably longer - decluttering surfaces before the visit is the single best way to get more from the time.
Do I need to be at home when the cleaner comes?
No. Most of our regular customers are at work. We hold keys under a signed keyholding agreement, with keys coded rather than labelled and signed in and out on every visit, or we can use a key safe or smart lock code.
Do you clean inside the oven and fridge?
Not as part of a standard regular clean, because both take real time and rushing them produces a poor result. Both are available as an add-on, and both are included as standard in a deep clean or an end of tenancy clean.
Can I change what the cleaner focuses on?
Yes, any time. Your checklist is agreed at the start and is yours to adjust - tell your cleaner directly or message the office. Some weeks the priority is the kitchen and some weeks it is the spare room; that is entirely normal.
